Creating During the Busy Christmas Season

It seems like I have had very little time to create lately.
I don't know why this Christmas season seemed busier then others.... it just did.

I did manage to find a few minutes to create
on some of the busy days leading up to Christmas.

And when a spare 15 minutes came my way,
I would grab bits of my hand decorated paper,
and collage some little critters.

I love how layered pieces of translucent papers
overlap to add depth to these critters.

Perhaps when I get some time
a few of these will be glued onto the front of cards..... or books.

New Softies

I have made a few new soft covered books.

Some how these softies have become my favourites

I love the supple feel of their waxed covers....
but unfortunately that is hard to share here.

And when I thought I was done
One more appeared .........
decorated with my hand carved bird stamp and a bit of drawing.

It has been hard to find some creative time lately,
but so important to my happiness.

I hope you too are finding some time  to create during this busy season.

2 New Pages - For the Love of Play

My 'For the Love of Play' journal
has not been getting the attention it deserves.

But I finally have a couple more pages finished
that I can share.

After gluing a few bits and pieces to the page,
I drew these animals, and added a bit of watercolour paint to them.

You may be able to see my note
saying this species went extinct around 1799.

The next page contains a fictional fish....
or I guess parts of two fictional fish.

Same process.... bits of paper glued down,
a drawing and then a bit of watercolour added.

I really don't know why I don't play in this book more often.

Life 3 Months At A Time

Here is another  '3 Months At A Time  Day Timer'
that I finally got photographed.

It has soft covers that are made from
layers of fabric, tea bags, ink and paint
and decorated with my drawing.

The pages have the dates written on them....

with extra pages for notes at the end of each month.

The pages are decorated with my hand carved stamps.

The book is designed to carry around 3 months of days at a time.

At the end of the month you remove the old month,
move then next months forward,
and add another month to the back spot in the book.

Here is April, May and June booklets
ready to be put into the cover  when the time comes.

I also have just added  a couple of these tiny notebooks
with extra pages to my Etsy shop.

Organization does not come easily to me these days ...
I will continue to work on it!

Getting Organized?

Sheesh!  I have been trying to get organized for so long now,
and it just isn't working!

But I have finally finished this day timer
that will hopefully help someone stay organized.

This day timer comes with a stack of little booklets
- one for each month.

The beauty of this organizer is that
you carry around three months of pages at a time,
and when the month is over you slide the old pages out
and move the new month of pages in.
(moving the next months to the correct spot of the 3 slots)

The pages are decorated with my hand carved stamps

and have the days of the month written
in the top corner of the page.

The names of the month is written
on the first page of each month booklet.

The days of week can be added as the year rolls along
- which makes the daytime ready to be used
next year or the year after, or the year after that.

An elastic cord wraps around the 3 month planner

I made myself this one last year

and have loved using it for almost a year now.

I have another one finished .....
but the light was bad today when I tried to take pictures of it
But hopefully I can share it with you soon!

AND ..... I finally managed to add a few cards and a day timer
to my Etsy shop - and I will add some more items soon!

Working towards being organized!

Sewn Leaf Cards

I created a few more cards this week.

I took bits of my handmade paper
and tea stained and dyed some pieces.

I glued the handmade paper bits onto cardstock
and sewed leaf patterns onto them.

The leaf pattern is visible on the outside and inside of the card.

Another batch of cards ready to be packaged.

New Cards For Sale

I have made a few new cards
for the upcoming sale I am participating in.
This series is mostly collaged cards,
but has a few made with just a piece of my patterned papers.

The paper I use in these little collages
is paper I have coloured or decorated in some way.

An assortment of fun ..... all ready to be packaged up!

I am slowly adding to my collection
of necklaces that I will have for sale
at the one and only craft sale I am doing this fall.

Lots of dangley bits came to play
on these pieces.

Not sure what will show up next time......
